Tournament Rules
1. General Rules:
Umpire decisions are final.
Two umpires will officiate each match.
The court dimensions are approx 20 meters by 40 meters.
Teams have to bring their own bats (2 nos)
The match will be played with a tennis ball
Only players and match officials allowed inside the court unless for medical emergency , passing water to court (with umpire’s permission)
Teams Should report at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start . If a team fails to ‘report’ at the scheduled time the opponents may be given a walk over.
If there is any loss of time during playing hours the overs shall be re-arranged proportionately by the umpires . The tournament committee reserves the right to reduce the over if no sufficient time to complete the overs.
Only keeper gloves and players caps are allowed in the court. No other protective gears are allowed
There will be a toss at the start of every match. The toss winning team can decide whether they wish to bat or field. The toss losing team can decide which end the batting starts from.
2. Team Composition and Match Format:
Each team consists of 6 players and 1 impact player.
6 overs per side.
A bowler can bowl a maximum of 2 overs.
Side changes after 3 overs. 2 minute time out after 3 overs
3. Scoring and Running:
2 runs for hitting the back net with / without bounce(s).
4 runs for hitting the front net with bounce(s).
6 runs for hitting the front net without bouncing off the ground.
Out if the ball goes above the net enclosure.
A run is completed if both the striker and non striker crosse the opposite creases
Bonus runs are added to the actual runs.
1 run bonus for the ball touching the side net in the batting half.
2 run bonus for the ball touching the side net in the bowling half.
Side net touch is considered a bounce; catches off the side net rebound are not valid.
4. Overthrows and Wickets:
Overthrows carry bonus runs.
No run for 3 consecutive balls results in a wicket.
6. Ways to Get Out:
Bowled.
Caught out.
Run Out
Stumping
Mankading
Hit out of the playing area
Time out (not in crease within 1 minute of the previous bat, unless play is obstructed).
3 Ball No Run (Applicable only for 3 Consecutive Legal Ball in an over)
7. Bowling Regulations:
Only over-arm bowling allowed.
Innings bowling time limit: 6 overs to be completed in 20 minutes.
If the time crosses 20 minutes, 5 runs are awarded to the batting team. If delayed further to 30 minutes, 10 runs will be awarded to the batting team.
2 Beamers by a bowler will result in bowler disqualification; a new bowler must complete the over.
1 bouncer allowed per over.
8. Extras:
No ball (overstepping, beamer, bouncer): 1 run, no free-hit.
Wide ball: 1 run.
Overthrow.
9. Super Over and Tie-breakers:
In case of a tie, a super over with 3 batters (2 wickets) and one bowler.
If the super over ends in a tie, the team with more runs per wicket wins in main overs.
In case of a tie in runs per wicket, the team with more boundaries (4s and 6s) wins.
10. Impact player
Captain needs to declare the impact player as the 7th player before toss. Impact players will be substituting any one player other than captain and choose to either bat or ball.
